Medemer Brought Real Change in Utilizing Ethiopia’s Diverse Dev’t Potentials: Government Whip

The “Medemer” thought has brought about real change in terms of utilizing Ethiopia’s diverse development potentials, Government Whip Tesfaye Beljige said.
Speaking at the “Journey of Medemer” panel discussion, jointly organized by the Ethiopian News Agency (ENA) and South West Ethiopia Peoples Region, the whip presented a discussion paper highlighting the core principles and national assets underpinning Medemer’s success.
According to him, Medemer was translated to the realm of practical actions and enabled to deliver tangible changes across all sectors.
In the economic sphere, for instance, Tesfaye said Medemer has gone beyond modernizing the agriculture sector to unlock alternative resources.
He cited the Dine for Ethiopia projects as prime examples of Medemer’s impact on transforming Ethiopia into a tourist haven through infrastructure development.
Furthermore, the whip commended Medemer’s role in fostering homegrown solutions for local challenges.
He further highlighted the strengthening of multinational brotherhood as a cornerstone of Medemer’s concept for genuine federalism.
However, Tesfaye pointed out that the ongoing challenges posed by contraband, inflation, and extremism indicating the urgent need to address them.
South West Ethiopia Peoples Region Chief Administrator, Negash Wagesho said Medemer has helped create better opportunity by combining the assets of yesterday with today’s capabilities.
According to him, Medemer has enabled to genuinely realize multi-national federalism, lay foundation to move from a single truth to collective narrative.
Ethiopian News Agency Chief Executive Officer Seife Derbie said that Medemer has made citizens stand in a new spirit of cooperation rather than division.
The panel was attended by federal and regional high officials and various sections of the society.
